This is a list of companies that will state in the ingredients list if something contains gluten. Many companies will only list wheat because the required to by law. Sometimes oats, barley and rye are hidden in things like flavoring, spices, vinegar and malt. If you call the company they will tell you if there is gluten in the product. The list that I have is of companies that don't "hide" gluten in their labels. EX If you want to buy something from ConAgra, and you see spices listed. You can be assured that the spices do not contain gluten unless it says spices (barley).
The list I have of roughly 60 "trusted" brands/manufacturers is:
Arrowhead Mills, Aunt Nelly's, B&G Foods, Balance, Baskin Robbins, Ben & Jerry, Bertoli, Betty Crocker, Blue Bunny, Breyers, Campbells, Cascadian Farms, Celestial Seasonings, ConAgra, Country Crock, Del Monte, Edy's, General Mills, Good Humor, Green Giant, Hain Celestial Group, Haagen Daz, Hellman's, Hershey, Hormel, Hungry Jack, Jiffy, Knorr, Kozy Shack, Kraft, Lee Kum Kee USA, Lawry's, Libby's, Lipton, Martha White, Marzetti Brands, Maxwell House, McCormick, Nabisco, Nestle, Newman’s Own, Old El Paso, Ortega, Pillsbury, Popsicle, Post, Progresso, Ragu, Russell Stover, Sara Lee, Seneca Foods, Skippy, Smucker, Stokely's, Sunny Delight, T Marzetti, Tyson, Unilever, Wishbone, Yoplait, Zatarain's.
This makes shopping so much easier!Memorizing what foods are gluten free or keeping a long list to riffle through is a pain in the you-know-what. Just keep a list of these companies and eventually you will remember which ones are the good ones.
