Are Chicken of the Sea products gluten free?

All Chicken of the Sea products are gluten free, with the exception of Ahi Tuna Steak in a Grilled Herb Marinade, Ahi Tuna Steak in a Teriyaki Sauce, Salmon Steak in a Mandarin Orange Glaze, Mandarin Orange Salmon Cups, Teriyaki Tuna Cups, Crab-tastic! (imitation crab) and Tuna Salad Kits, which depending on size contain either bread crumbs or crackers.

When I gathered this information, the food items were gluten free. Are they still today? I don't know. Please read all labels, even if you have been eating the same food for years. Companies often use different ingredients as a filler and that is exactly was gluten is. A cheap filler. I am not a Doctor, you know that. My blog is just to help you get started. Some of these foods are made in the same building as gluten containing foods. It is up to you if you want to take that chance. It may be better not to, but at first, you just need help on what to buy. This is what I am trying to do.

These lists should only be used as guides to find products that you may be interested in, because gluten status can change. The best source of information is always your own phone call to the manufacturer's customer service line. A toll-free number is often found on the product label.

The Food Allergen Labeling Law now requires any of the 8 main allergens to be clearly listed, and not hidden in flavorings, starch, etc. Wheat is one of the 8 main allergens (but, gluten is not). So, if you don't see wheat listed after "modified food starch-wheat" etc., it doesn't have wheat. It makes life a lot easier to know the sources of starch etc.

Although there are food listed here, it doesn't mean that each flavor is gluten free. Please use this as a guide. When you figure out what flavor you want, look it up on the manufacturers website or call the 800 number on the label.
